Call it a draw

Likely before anti-spam advocates were able to fill their glasses with champagne to celebrate the confession of Brooklyn, N.Y. mass junk mailer Adam Vitale, word surfaced that anti-spam group Spamhaus was under DDoS attack.

It brought back memories of Israeli-based anti-spam vendor Blue Security getting hit last year, and they were ultimately forced to close down because of the mass attacks.

Something tells me Spamhaus isn’t going anywhere. They’re used to this kind of stuff.

As for Vitale, while he was accused of pushing out millions of spam to AOL customers, it’s unlikely his confession will stem the tide of spam. As experts told me when Seattle spam king Robert Alan Soloway was indicted a few days ago, the burden falls elsewhere, namely ISPs.

From Brooklyn? I don’t believe it.
